About me
I am a qualified integrative counsellor with a person centred approach. I am registered with The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I work within their ethical framework to work safely and ethically.
I aim to provide a space for you to feel comfortable without judgement so we can explore together the issues which have brought you to counselling. I feel we all have the answers within ourselves and sometimes we just need help with finding those, which we can do together at your pace. I have life experience to offer, I’ve worked in the public sector with diverse communities which set me on my path in counselling.
Most of us at some time feel lonely or stuck because of the challenges life can throw at us, so having support and being heard can help us back on the right path to feeling happier and more able to manage difficult times. Our journeys are all unique and I would feel privileged to share this part of your journey with you, so you can continue to become the best version of yourself. I look forward to meeting you.
What is person centred counselling?
The person centred approach means you are in the driving seat and I am the passenger with you on your journey. I am not there to tell you what to do or “fix you” its about exploring your experiences together. I will sometimes use tools and other modalities if I feel it would be beneficial to you.
I sometimes may gently challenge you so you can gain more insight into yourself but this will always be done in a supportive and empathetic way. This is your time to explore you and you will be in control of what you want to bring to the sessions.
My aim is to provide that confidential space for you and the therapeutic relationship is always at the centre of my practice.
